About the AEA

The Australian Equine Alliance (AEA) is a membership based organisation dedicated to providing for the needs of Australia's horse riders.

We take pride in embracing members from a diverse range of equine disciplines.

AEA Mission Statement

The Australian Equine Alliance (AEA) aims to be the voice of an alliance of national horse breeds and horse sports associations and clubs operating for the promotion and development of equine activities of these associations and clubs and their individual members.

Aims and Objectives:

  1. To source adequate comprehensive Personal Accident and Personal Liability Insurance at a reasonable price for all Australian horse riders.
  2. To source adequate public liability and event management risk insurance for volunteers, managers and boards of Alliance Member Bodies.
  3. To develop and seek funding from government-recognised programs for the benefit of Alliance Member Bodies.
  4. To seek funding from Commonwealth and State governments for the development and special needs initiatives of Alliance Member Bodies.
  5. To develop a coordinated approach to education, training and development issues affecting Alliance Member Bodies their affiliated clubs and AEA Individual Members.
  6. To obtain sponsorship for the benefit of all Alliance Member Bodies.
  7. To create and develop a promotions/bulk buying unit that can obtain discounts on goods and services supplied to Alliance Member Bodies and AEA Individual Members.
  8. To promote the equine industry generally.
  9. To liaise with all stakeholders within the industry on issues of common concern.

History:

In early 2002, representatives of a number of state and national horse breed and sports organisations met in Queensland, firstly in Toowoomba and then in Gatton, to analyse ways in which they could best be represented on a collective national basis. Find out more history.
