1. What is the cost to become an Alliance Member Body?

There is NO COST for equine associations or clubs to become an Alliance Member Body.

2. Who is the underwriter of the insurance?

3. Who is the broker of the insurance?

4. Is the AEA an insurance agent?

No. The AEA has responded to the need for suitable public liability and personal accident insurance (as identified in our industry meetings in 2002), by offering these policies through our insurance broker.

5. Are the Insurance Policies available to individuals?

NO. Please visit our Individuals page for information on individual horse rider insurance starting from $90 p.a. for Seniors (18-70) and $54 p.a. for Youths (4-17).

6. Who can apply for the Insurance Policies?

These policies are ONLY available to those equine associations/clubs who are incorporated and/or registered as a company AND sign the PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT with the AEA. Once this has been signed your Association/Club is referred to as an ‘Alliance Member Body’.

7. Is it possible to become an Alliance Member Body without taking up an Insurance Policy?

YES, it is possible for an association/club to become an Alliance Member Body without taking advantage of the Insurance Policies; simply complete only the Participation Agreement section of this brochure.

8. What is the Directors & Office Bearers Insurance benefit payout limit?

This policy, covering the Fiduciary Duty of Clubs and Associations, has a limit of indemnity of $2,000,000 with an excess of $500.

9. What is the Association/Club Public Liability Insurance benefit payout limit?

This policy, covering the Public Liability of Clubs and Associations, has a limit of indemnity of $10,000,000.

10. I represent an Association/Club and want to know how to apply for one of these Policies.

Please complete the Association/Club Membership Application on the Policy Information page and post it to the AEA at PO Box 209, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Queensland, 4006. We will process your application and return a copy to you. If you applyfor the D&O Insurance please make a cheque for $600 payable to our broker, OAMPS Insurance Brokers Ltd. If you apply for the Association/Club Public Liability Insurance OAMPS will send a quote to you for your approval.
