How the AEA helped after a serious injury at the Boonah Campdraft and Rodeo
Phillipa DeMain is a skilled horse rider and respected member of the Campdrafting and Tentpegging communities. In October last year, she attended the Boonah Campdraft and Rodeo and it was during this event that she met with a serious accident that left her incapacitated for 4 months.
The day began well; Phillipa participated in the maiden draft and was competing in the novice when she was cracked off in the camp. Because she was a member of the Boonah Campdraft and Rodeo committee she decided to help get rid of the used stock.
It was then that things turned nasty... Read more about Phillipa's experience.

The Way of The Horse - Australian Horsemanship Challenge
The Way of the Horse competition was introduced into the EQUITANA's programme in 2005. It proved to be a highly successful and fascinating competition. In 2007 The Way of the Horse returns with a whole new format. Three new contestants will demonstrate their methods of connecting with an unbroken horse over two days.
This challenge is nothing short of the ultimate display of the ability of a trainer to interact with an unstarted horse on a level the average person can only imagine. Each trainer will select a young unbroken horse and demonstrate the unique method they use to make a connection enabling trust, respect and amazing progress in what the horse is prepared to do for its trainer.
The 2007 Horsemanship Challenge is not to be missed by any horse lover as we watch and learn from Dan James, Warwick McLean and Shane Ransley. Please visit www.equitana.com.au for full profiles of the participants.

Australian Equine Alliance Club Carnival announced
The Australian Equine Alliance (AEA) has secured the naming rights to the three-day Club Carnival to be run in conjunction with the Ridley Polocrosse World Cup 2007.
In April next year Australia will defend its World Cup title against New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The event is expected to draw a live onsite audience of 40,000 to Morgan Park, Warwick - Australia's top Polocrosse facility. The Australian Equine Alliance Club Carnival will provide on-site entertainment between international World Cup matches.
The inaugural Club Carnival, held during the Polocrosse World Cup in 2003, proved an outstanding success. The 2007 competition is expected to attract close to 100 teams including domestic players and visitors from overseas.
In welcoming AEA as a valued sponsor, World Cup Chairman Mr Les Fraser said, "While we had others interested in sponsoring the Carnival, we chose AEA because it complements other leading equestrian brands already sponsoring the World Cup. The Carnival will draw hundreds of players from across the country, and provides an excellent opportunity to promote the AEA brand and its benefits."
The AEA is a membership-based organisation providing access to affordable public liability and personal accident insurance for horse riders, as well as a forum for equine education and information.
AEA Chairman, Mr Lawrence Watts said, "Our mission is to act as an advocate for the entire equine community in Australia and we are therefore proud to be associated with the World Cup."
