Risk Management
Planning an Equine Event? READ THIS FIRST.
Planning an equine event means you are responsible for other's safety. Not only the safety of people, but of their horses and property as well.
With this in mind, it is essential to minimise the amount of risk that both your association/club and those attending the event, are exposed to. After all, the whole idea is to enjoy the success of your event, not end up with an accident, injury or costly litigation!
To help those responsible for managing and co-ordinating an event, the Australian Equine Alliance in collaboration with OAMPS Insurance Brokers Ltd & Calliden Ltd has developed a checklist for both event organisers & associations. Although it doesn't guarantee there will be no incidents, using the checklist can help you to reduce your risk.
Access to the Safety Checklists is only available to AEA members. Join the AEA.
